We are so pleased to have Guypson as our speaker on Sunday, June 18th, Father’s Day. Guypson is visiting here from Haiti.  He is the project director of CDI (Community Development International).  He supports, teaches, and implements organic gardening and farming.  He is also quite the Master Chef, and he will bless us with his culinary skills at our luncheon today!

Information about CDI:

Mission

CDI was founded in 2009.
The mission of CD is to create strong, healthy and collaborative urban and rural communities through holistically designed programs for a more prosperous, harmonious and equitable global future.

At CDI, we envision a world in which conscious communities act as bottom-up agents for enduring social, environmental and economic change through intercultural partnerships, peer-to-peer exchange, and leadership. We thrive to achieve our vision through four broad areas of focus: Community Building, Sustainability, Advocacy, Health & Well-Being.

Guypson has aligned with the New Earth Farm in Virginia Beach, with John Wilson and the new owners of the farm, and with Mark Sheen. He brings his research and knowledge to us and he studies information from here to take back to his people in Haiti.  The exchange program is wonderful. Guypson is indeed a loved member of our “Village”!  We open our hearts and minds to his message this Sunday.

Good News for the Village:
Deng, one of the “Lost Boys”who we have been assisting financially and with friendship and love, has made it safely back to his home in South Sudan. We are happy about his safety and well-being!Our next WLOFV Luncheon will be a Father’s Day Luncheon on June 18th immediately after church. Guypson Catalis will be our chef!  Do not miss this delicious lunch!

International Outreach:
We are raising money for the school that Guypson is starting in Haiti.  We are accepting School Back Packs to send to Haiti.  A truck donated by John Wilson is being shipped to Haiti full of useful and needed items- especially school back packs. You may bring back packs to the church.  They will be collected and brought to the truck for sending to the school in Haiti.Thank you to everyone in our village for your love and participation!  It takes a village….
