God is a Verb

Susan Thomas is a Pastor with the Fellowship of the Inner Light who serves on our Pastoral Council and music ministry. She has served on our Board of Directors in the past, and she has served as a Sunday School teacher for the children. She has been with the church since a month after Paul Solomon moved to Virginia Beach from Georgia. She was 24 years old then. Susan is an Inner Light Consciousness teacher, and she is also our current Office Manager and Newsletter Editor. Her main ministries are Motherhood, Music, and Music Teaching.

Susan Enjoys sharing music at our church and composing instrumental and vocal music. She teaches violin, piano, cello, and viola to students privately. She has taught chorus, string orchestra, and general music in public and private schools in the past. She enjoyed playing violin in the Virginia Symphony for 14 years. A shoulder injury sidelined her, but much healing has happened and she can still play the violin. Susan also enjoys writing poetry and prose. She is happy to be a part of this spiritual family. She is happy that we can live, love, be happy, heal, and learn and grow together. We bless her.

+ Her talk:  Susan enjoyed reading the book, “God is a Verb”, by Rabbi David A. Cooper. This book explores Jewish Mysticism.  It addresses our yearning to reconnect with our essential nature that transcends the limits of the intellect.  It comes from a place of inner knowing that there is far more to life than the material world.  We know deeply within that the mysteries of creation speak in a language that can be absorbed only through “being” rather than by doing or thinking. This book provides insight into the foundations of Western Mysticism.

Susan enjoys the ongoing search and “rescue” of our concepts about and experiences of God. Jesus revealed much to us to help show the way and to encourage us to end our identity crisis and realize and accept and express who we really are. This journey tends to be a long one and actually has no end because everything evolves.  Let us explore ways to enjoy and enhance the journey for us all.

We open our hearts and minds to hear Susan’s message on Sunday.
